This photograph was taken on a warm September afternoon while my husband worked on the garden.
My overgrown, (dare we say grown wild), herb garden was full of wild flowers that I planted from seed, and they were on the way out, turning to seed. I wanted to get some nice shots, and realized I was looking down into the flower as most people do. So I squatted down and started taking shots upward into the back of the flower, capturing the translucency of the golden petals and the hairs on the stem.
I think of of chirping crickets, loud woodpeckers and hot saultry days in the herb garden, I remember the smell of my lavender and sage, when I see this picture.
